How tasty is the Motherf*#$&r?"

This is the heaviest metric. It is all about the burger how good it is. This includes ingredients, the balance of taste, quirkiness, the overall experience in your mouth.

The first question I always ask is “What is the burger trying to be?”. Is it a diner-style, junk food, gourmet or weird enough to not have a category? For a simple burger, I will be much more critical of the execution. For a burger with a quirky recipe, I will be looking much more for the balance of flavour and how everything comes together.

I always work from the potential of the burger based on what I read from the recipe. If there is anything wrong, I remove points.

Burger joint venue and overall experience?

This includes all the experience around the burger. How good are the fries? What is the choice of drinks? Do they go well with the burger? The way the burger is served and the ambience of the place.

Quirkiness level of the experience?

This is an interesting one. It is not only about the quality of the recipe but how original it is. Are there any new tastes, textures or experiences. If there is an extraordinary balance or layering of tastes. It also combines with how the experience is there anything unusual about the sides or the way the burger is served.
