Gaucho is a steak house that I noticed recently in the food delivery app. It looked delicious and it is an expensive steak house so I had very high expectations. However, I was very disappointed by the whole experience. It was actually a bit sad.

How tasty is the Motherf*#$&r? – 2/10

So this is possibly the worst burger I have ever tried. I honestly prefer any McDonald’s burger compared to this. So what went wrong?

The burger had:

• Beef Patty
• Tomato Salsa
• Onion
• Lettuce
• Mayo
• Brioche

The meat patty did everything wrong. The order came quickly so I was expecting a warm/hot patty however it was very obvious that it was reheated. I’m pretty sure the patty was boiled but I can’t be sure. The meat was uniformly grey and it wasn’t juicy at all. The seasoning was a myth for the chefs and there was no char or crust. I don’t care what is the quality of the meat because you couldn’t taste it or see it for that matter. The patty was very disappointing

When I looked at the menu I was very excited about the tomato jam. Executed perfectly this would be a great combination of tangy and sweet, a perfect relish for a simple burger. However, what I got was three sliced and quickly pan-fried cherry tomatoes that could have come from a can without any seasoning. The disappointment hurt more than the actual taste. The onions were ok, they were the little redeeming flavour the burger had.

The lettuce was a single leaf and not sliced. It made things slippery and it was soggy, it really had no purpose. Combine it with simple mayo and the patty was slipping away from the bun.

The brioche was the best thing in the burger by far. It was glossy with light crust soft on the inside and not soggy at all and nicely toasted.

Burger joint venue and overall experience? –  3/10

The loaded fries I got with the burger managed to make the whole order more manageable. But hey we’re good because of the loaded part and not the fries necessarily.

Quirkiness level of the experience? – 1/10

I really had hope for that tomato jam once I saw it in the menu but since it was that disappointing and the rest was a classic recipe… nothing quirky here.
