Another week in lockdown another burger for delivery! I’m happy that slowly the range of Deliveroo is extended so I have access to more burgers to try. I literally finished the ones in my area last year. This time I’m checking out Greedy Cow a small place in Mile End, East London. Honestly, I didn’t know what to expect but it seemed like a place that knows a lot about meat… and it does.

How tasty is the Motherf*#$&r? – 8.5/10

A very simple burger that highlights execution over recipe. This is a very high score for such a simple burger. As you know the less you have the more scrutiny there is on execution and the individual ingredients.

The burger had:

• Beef Patty
• Bone Marrow Butter
• Lettuce
• Tomato
• Onion
• Brioche
• Burger Sauce

God, this burger patty was tasty. Only a few time has the patty had an intense beef smell like this one. It is a sign of great quality meat that is well cooked. I am very impressed by the execution. Nice crust, full of flavour and very juicy. Easily the centrepiece of the burger and the potential for a 10/10.

The salad was where the burger let me down a bit. The tomato was a typical British tomato, pink not a lot of taste and a bit chewy… not the best. The lettuce was a bit lacking, I would have loved more. I’m happy it was shredded but the crunch was missing. I didn’t mind the fresh onion it was on the mild side hence it blended and complimented the salad and the patty well, but for sure a risky ingredient.

The nutty flavour of the bone marrow was actually felt through the patty and burger. I guess it was a good amount and the fewer flavours helped it stand out. The burger sauce wasn’t mentioned in the menu but was surprisingly good. A very good interpretation of a classic burger sauce. It had the right amount of body and tang. The sauce was the right amount so the bun wasn’t soggy. The bun was firm and tasty. I’m coming back for sure.

Burger joint venue and overall experience? – 9/10

The fries were crispy on the outside and of on the inside. I also had some wings and ribs and boy was I happy. I want to visit this place once the pandemic is over

Quirkiness level of the experience? – 3/10

Nothing special or quirky about the burger. But it isn’t every day you eat a gorgeous patty
