Another week of isolation and another burger order. This week I decided to revisit Shake Shack.  Last time I was a bit disappointed with the burger joint, I found that a lot of burgers are hit or miss. As a good measure of quality burger, I went for the most basic recipe as that would show a lot of execution flaws.

How tasty is the Motherf*#$&r? – 5/10

Everybody likes a good cheeseburger. It is a simple recipe and it is going to be very evident if something is wrong. This one was a bit of a miss as you can see from the score

The burger had:

  • Beef Patty
  • Chese
  • Brioche

The patty looks and feels handmade for sure. It is fried on butter for sure as the taste was evident on the crust. It was juicy but not as much as I expected. The beef flavour was there but nothing glamorous. I would have preffered more spices or flavour from the patty crust for sure. Overall the burger felt like an enchanced McDonalds cheeseburger. The meat was pretty average in my opinion and frequently the bread was more of a centrepiece compared to the patty.

The cheese was from the simple processed type variety which fit the taste and the style of the burger. It was felt through every bite and for sure had that signature cheeseburger flavour. It was nicely melted which helped with the junk food, diner style burger.

The bun doesn’t look like a typical brioche but has the nice soft slightly sweet flavour. It was nicely toasted with butter and had absorbed a lot of the beef flavour from the patty which I absolutely loved.

Burger joint venue and overall experience? – 5/10

The diner junk food style burgers a very well complimented by cheese loaded fries. They are cripsy on the outside and soft on the inside and delicious!

Quirkiness level of the experience? – 3/10

A very basic cheeseburger with a very basic recipe. The fries with cheese is what gives the points.
