Yen Burger is a burger place that I really enjoyed last time I visited. So I decided to bring my friends over and give another burger a try. It is an easily reachable venue and opens at 12.00 just for lunch. The last burger was so close to a 10/10, it had one of the best beef patties I have tried so I was hyped about this one.

How tasty is the Motherf*#$&r? – 10/10

This was a very simple burger. The simpler you go the more is expected from the ingredients and the burger delivered

The burger had:

  • Angus Beef
  • Lettuce Shiso
  • Pickles
  • Red Onion
  • Turn Up Sauce
  • Steamed Bun

As I’ve mentioned before the patty is one of the best I have tried. The Angus Beef that they use is full of flavour and very good quality, I also find it much better than their Wagyu beef. The burger is crispy on the outside and full of juicy goodness on the inside. They are also spicing the burger so it isn’t just the meat working. What you end up with is an amazing burger that acts as the centrepiece of every single bite.

I admire the fact that there was no cheese. It didn’t have a place and the rest of the burger handled perfectly without it. The pickles were great with providing that brightness and acidity together with the salad so your pallet can reset. It was going perfectly with the meat and the spicy sauce. The crunchy texture just added to the overall experience.

The thing that pushed the burger for a 10/10 was for sure the sauce. It made the burger different from what I usually try. It gave character to the burger by showing off its Asian origins. It was delicious, spicy, but not annihilating your taste buds, it was quirky but most of all it rounded up the whole burger

Bun helped with the character. It was firm, it managed to hold all the sauces and was very plain in flavour so the other ingredients can shine

Burger joint venue and overall experience? –7/10

This time the fires weren’t as good as the previous time I visited. The gyoza I tried was ok but nothing special what pushed it was the sauce.

Quirkiness level of the experience? – 8/10

Interesting take on a simple burger. A fun and exciting sauce that I would love to take back home in a bottle.
