So a weekend ago I was looking for a meal around Regent Street and bumped into a food market that served burgers from Heddon Street. Apparently, it is one of Gordon Ramsay’s restaurants so I had to give one of the burgers a try. I was expecting quality and I wasn’t disappointed.

NOTE: To point out, this was a burger from the street food stand not the restaurant but I was expecting the quality to be on the same level.

How tasty is the Motherf*#$&r? – 9.5/10

This burger follows a philosphy of simplicity which I respect a lot. It doesn’t have anything unnecessary but that only means the quality needs to be so much higher and it was.

The burger had:

  • Dry Aged Beef
  • Cheddar
  • Lettuce
  • Burger Sauce
  • Brioche

The patty is hands down the best one I have ever tried. It was quality, tasty, full of flavour jucy and properly cooked. For sure it had plenty of other condiments, it wasn’t only a simple beef burger relying on the quality of source and cut. To my eastern european friends, it tasted a lot more like the grill minced meats ( kiofte ) we are used to just made with good quality dry aged beef. I’m pretty sure there was mustard and bread crumbles in the mix.

The cheese was a bit of a slip, it wasn’t enough for the large patty the burger had. You could taste it only on its own and although good it could have been much better if there were simply two slices. The lettuce was few flimsy slices I would have completely removed and let the classic cheeseburger speak for itself. Last but not least the burger sauce. It was siracha and a lot of mayo and not that it was bad but it wasn’t with the excelence of the patty. It was tasty but it could have been so much better even only by shifting the proportions of siracha and mayo.

Combine all of the above with a truly great and fresh brioche and you have an amazing burger. It could have easily been a 10/10.
