I was walking around with friends in North Greenwich and as a foody I had to bring them to the market. My last experience with Ramen Burgers was very pleasent. The burger was a very interesting twist of something you know. Of course as a burger connoisseur I expressed my recommendations and lined up to try another one of these ramen burgers. They did like it quite a bit but for me the story wasn’t all that peachy

How tasty is the Motherf*#$&r? – 6/10

I need to start clarifying more in my blogs but my taste has evolved and I realize I have become much more pretentious about the burgers I eat. I’m not sure if it was execution, slightly different recipes or quality but this time the burger wasn’t as good. Year ago that would have been a place I would regularly recommend. So what is the story.

The burger had:

  • Beef Patty
  • Ramen Bun
  • Egg
  • Lettuce
  • Special sauce
  • Cheddar

Burger was ok, quality was there and it was tasty but nothing mind blowing. The patties are pressed and I would have preffered to either have a bit more of a fatty cut or few more spices to help with the flavours. Considering that the burger deals with light flavours I can understand why the intensity of the beef doesn’t need to be as prominent but you need something a bit more because the egg was able to dominate quite a bit of the taste.

Egg and Beef is a popular combination especially in the Iberian regions of the world. It is an absolutely tasty classic but this wasn’t the best execution. The cheddar was good and went really well with the egg and the burger. The tastes were overall light which meant every piece of ingredient got some time to shine in the mouth.

The burger sauce was more like general ketchup/siracha mayo sauce and overall the whole feel of the burger (compared to the last one I had tried was lost). The lettuce was there but not enough spring onions as last time. Flavlours were there they just weren’t flowing perfectly together.

The ramen bun is the star of the show and I’ pretty sure last time it was tastier. This tie it depended too much on the rest of the ingredients and it kind of lost its individuality.

This was simply a tasty set of ingredients brought together without much balance or sparks of glory, unlike the burger I tried last year.

Burger joint venue and overall experience? – 2/10

You get a burger that is it. I think a few interesting drinks may bring the burgers in a different light

Quirkiness level of the experience? – 7/10

This is the only ramen burger place  I know in London so that is pretty quirky on its own but in terms as an overall experience and flavour it was less weird than last time.
