Every month I go out with my friends exploring food and alcohol (quantitative rather than qualitative exploration… ). After my last success in MeatMission with the Dead Hippie’s burger, I had to show this burger joint to my buddies. It was safe to say that everyone loved it.
How tasty is the Motherf*#$&r? – 8/10
I have learned to learn chillies. Years ago I would have never picked a burger like this and be excited. But now that I have learned the true path.
The burger had:
- 2x Beef Patties
- Spicy Chili Butter
- Red Onions
- French Mustard
- White Bun
As expected from MeatMission the patty was juicy and tasty. It was apparent it had more of a fatty cut. The beef flavour was the centrepiece for the burger, and the other ingredients played around it well. I don’t think the meat was heavily spiced but the quality was high enough to get that signature taste out.
The cheese was excellent and helped create that familiar taste you have from jalapeno poppers and other cheese and chilli flavours. Interestingly, the cheese wasn’t felt much on its own but rather contributed mainly to the chillies and putting on the front of the taste together with the patty.
There were a lot of greens salads and pickled, but the truth is a lot of them were lost through the intensity of the chillies. You had the onions present, and that was about it. If this was aiming and fewer ingredients and just ride the chillies and beef flavours, it was going to be a much more successful burger.
The bun was soft, lightly toasted it was sogging a bit more than I would have loved but nothing too bad.
Burger joint venue and overall experience? – 8/10
Jugs of IPA. Trays of fries and tasty burgers. I really enjoy the place.
Quirkiness level of the experience? – 6//10
Nothing too crazy about the burger but few people leverage the fresh taste of green chillies like this.
