For some time I’ve been passing by Shortditch High Street station and noticing that burger joint. Few nights ago I was out to an excentric gallery opening (it is exactly what it sounds like ) so I decided to finish the evening with a greasy junkfood burger. Lucky me I remembered about Dirty Burger. Seeing the name frequently at differnt places and mentioned by people I was hyped to try a new place.

How tasty is the Motherf*#$&r? – 7/10

I like it when a burger joint excells into a specific thing and Dirty Burgers wasn’t different from that as they had one of the best bacon I’ve tried in my life. So lets go in more detail.

The burger had:

  • Beef patty
  • Cheddar Cheese
  • Tomatoe
  • Lettuce
  • Bacon
  • Pickles
  • Mayo
  • White Bun

As you see this is a very standard burger recipe which means I expect more from the execution and the individual ingredients. As mentioned before that the bacon was one of the best I’ve had. It was crispy on the outside, soft and easy to bite on the inside and full of flavour. This is exactly the kind of bacon I like because it has so much more character than thin crispy bacon. Sadly though the bacon was in contrast with the patty. There was nothing exceptional or exciting about it. It was just beef with salt and pepper. There wasn’t taste overload there wasn’t incredible juiciness it was just a basic OK burger.

Recently I’ve been having difficulty finding a place that uses cheese as a flavour ingredient rather than an eye feeding melting goodness. I couldn’t really feel the cheddar totether with the other ingredients and it just provided more fattyness to the experience

The salads though were well made. Although not the best tomatoes I’ve had for sure they were pretty decent especially for London. You had that sweetness coming from them. Joining them on the sweet relish side of things were those nice slices of pickles and (THANK GOD) shredded lettuce. The salad was nice but I can’t say again that was something extraordinary.

Please toast the bun. Thank you.

Burger joint venue and overall experience? – 5/10

Smalll burger joint. Not a large choice of burgers or drinks but very good fries. A great place for grabbit a bite after drinking in the evening.

Quirkiness level of the experience? – 3/10

Very classic burger, nothing wierd or special about it except for incredibly difficult to open door.
