I’m a bit behind with the burgers I’ve eaten but thank god I keep notes to catch up. During one of the team lunches I decided to have a vegeterian burger at Honest. I have basically tried all burgers there so that was one of the more interesting choices left for me.

How tasty is the Motherf*#$&r? – 6.5/10

The Beyond Meat burgers is a brand of vegan burgers that try to push the impossible burger envelope. The impossible burger is the challenge to make a vegan burger taste and feel like real meat.  Lets say there is a reason it is called the “impossible” challenge

The size: Medium

The burger had:

• Beyond Meat Burger
• Smoked Gauda
• Onions
• Mustard
• Lettuce and onions
• Chipotle Mayo

So the “meat” was very interesting. It had a taste very closly resembling medium quality beef. If you had a wagyu or high quality grassfed beef you would feel the difference. But in terms of your average meat quality it was almost scary close. The thing that I was missing that “meaty” umami bite, it simply didn’t have the same fullness. Overall this is the best vegeterian burger I’ve had and I would recomend it to anyone, especially if you are willing to experiment with your food (literally).

I couldn’t really feel the smokyness of the gauda. But it was good quality cheese and even though a thin slice I could feel it in most bites. Sadly a lot of the time the mustard was a bit too much and overpowering the flavours.

Thank you for shredding the lettuce. No annoying sauce dripping, you could feel it in the bite and you have freshness from the green ( again if it aint overpowered by the mustard).

The mayo was fine but again the whole burger was largly dominated by the amount of mustard put on it. I love mustard and overall through few bites you could experience the burger in its fullness but the reason the burger doesn’t have a higher score is the yellow dominator.

Burger joint venue and overall experience? – 7/10

Honest burgers has great sides and especially fries. They are one of  my favorites for sure. There beverage choice is not as big as I would love to but I think this is a very solid burger joint

Quirkiness level of the experience? – 8//10

First time eating meat that is not really meat. We are at a point in our lives where we eat food with version numbers, lets realize that!
