For some time I’ve wanted to go to Burger and Lobster. Being a premium burger and lobster place I was hyped about the experience. It is a pricy place, especially for a burger, but I had an ocasion to treat myself.

How tasty is the Motherf*#$&r? – 6.5/10

Whenever a burger has a very classic recipe and very simple it becomes less about the combination of the ingredients and more about the execution. Paying £16 for a burger made my expectations very high. Sadly that wasn’t the case.

Size: Large

The burger had:

  • 10oz Nebraskan Beef Patty
  • Lettuce
  • Tomato
  • Pickles
  • Onion
  • Burger Sauce
  • Sesame Seed Bun

Having the meat brought from the US make me think there is no way it is absolutely fresh and not frozen in the process. Even thought it is obviously and in taste a high quality meat freezing does it no good. The taste was there but wasn’t powerful and very plain. The beef flavour wasn’t accentuated in any specific way and was in no way a centerpiece for the burger. The meat was with a slightly larger grind and without too much fat so combination of all those factor and the price made me quite dissapointed. It is not bad it is simply not great.

This was one of the very few burger I’ve tried in the UK where the vegetables and salad used in a burger were top notch. The tomato flavour was full, sweet and strong as I would expect from a fresh tasty tomatoe, not sure where they get it from but all the burger joint should take a note. The lettuce was shredded which I believe it the way lettuce should be on a burger. The pickles were very nice, sweet and lightly sour and the sauce that had a mayo base provided fulness and was striving for balance in the bite.

The bun was very tasty and good. The sesame seeds were felt in bites it was lightly toasted, not to soggy and not to dry.

Everything was great except for the meat since the quality of execution of the rest of the burger was shadowing the suppose to be centerpiece.

Burger joint venue and overall experience? – 6/10

It is a very nice place, they have great coctails, a nice diner like atmosphere for dining. The lobsters are tasty and you have a large choice of sides. Sadly the fries were not the best but quite good non the less.

I had a nice IPA, I would of loved a bit more of choice.

Quirkiness level of the experience? – 5/10

Nice diner atmosphere with premium yet simple burger
