So I was absent for a weekend or two because I had the pleasure of eating burgers in Greece. While I was in Thessaloniki I knew I had to have a burger from here since last year I had a pretty good one and the overall food quality in the country is great. I was excited to find a highly rated place while I was having a walk with a hungry belly

How tasty is the Motherf*#$&r? – 8.5/10

The burger was straightforward as the majority of the burgers in the menu. Nothing to fancy or special, however I was very pleasantly surprised.

Size: Large

The burger had:

  • Beef patty
  • Bacon
  • Tomato
  • Lettuce
  • Cheddar
  • BBQ Sauce
  • Smoked Mayo
  • White bun

This was a classic burger for sure, nothing too special. The quality of the meat was good and what you would expect from a Mediterranean country. Typical for the region, the beef was slightly seasoned, and you could distinctly feel the red meat flavour. It was more on the well done side as expected for this side of the world. The bacon was more on the crispy side. I tend to prefer the bacon slightly softer however this was one of the better executions of the crispy bacon. You could feel the smoky flavour complimenting the beef and the BBQ sauce. All and all it was the bacon I enjoyed quite a bit compared to others I’ve tried.

The cheddar was a good fit for the burger and wasn’t lost among the other punch flavours. You could feel it in every bite and was nicely melted. It was a very classic fit to a very classic recipe.

One of the reasons I really liked this simple burger was the vegetables. In Greece the tomatoes are so much better than the ones you can find in the UK in most burger joints. The flavour is mouth filling but never dominating and the tomato is easy to bite through. The lettuce was also fresh. It added enough crispiness and managed to cleanse the pallet among bites.

I couldn’t feel too much of the smoky mayo but the BBQ sauce was for sure the ingredient that was steering the direction of the burger. I quite enjoyed the one they used although I’m not sure if it was homemade or not.

The bun could have been slightly more toasted otherwise it was a great ingredient holder.

The burger was a very nice and unexpectedly good take on a classic recipe that I really enjoyed. I recommend when you visit Thessaloniki.

Burger joint venue and overall experience? – 5/10

The fries weren’t anything special however the options for sides had a large variety. The drinks however were fairly limited to few classic lagers and standard soft drinks.

Quirkiness level of the experience? – 4//10
