So this was a place close to work were my team and I went for lunch. Of course there was a burger menu so I had to try one. There are few that caught my eye. this time I wanted something more simple than what I usually get so I went for a the Wagyu burger and it didn’t disappoint.

How tasty is the Motherf*#$&r? – 7.0/10

So last time I had Wagyu in a burger I was very disappointing hence this time I had a measured expectation. The burger was also pricier so I did expect something which is good and fresh.

Size: Large

The burger had:

  • Wagyu beef patty
  • Tomato Chutney
  • Blue Cheese
  • Mayo
  • Rocket
  • Tomato
  • Brioche

This for sure was one of the better meats I’ve tried. It was tasty, I don’t think there was a lot of seasoning used for the beef but it had that nice flavour you would expect. It was great for a centerpiece of the experience. My only critique was that the ends of the burger were burned slightly more and they were lacking that juiciness and flavour the middle had. Also it is a smaller patty than a usual burger but that is expected.

You’ve hear me say it before. Blue cheese is one of the best for a burger in my opinion. And here it was executed perfectly. They were blue cheese crumbs amid the tasty rocket salad that weren’t overwhelming the flavour but balancing perfectly. The rocket, mayo and cheese played very well around the beef taste so I did enjoy it quite a bit.

The tomato chutney was an interesting choice. It made the sub par tomato taste very well and added to the juiciness of the overall burger. I would of loved if it pushed the flavour slightly more sour than sweet but I think it was nice.

The brioche was fresh and provided that sweet baseline to start your bite and then used the rest of the ingredients to send you into the savory world. I heavily recommend this burger. Few minor tweaks and this could be a 10.

Burger joint venue and overall experience? – 6/10

The joint had a large selection of sides and ales. The perfect compliment for a burger. The fries were slightly bland but they had variety of preparations. I’ve certainly had better tasting ones but they were overall OK.

Quirkiness level of the experience? – 6//10

You don’t eat wagyu beef everyday but I can’t say it was something earthshattering
