Was in Salt Lake City and was wondering what should I have for dinner and of course… when in doubt, eat a burger. So I went and ordered from the highest rated burger joint in the area and I was very pleasently surprised by the food

How tasty is the Motherf*#$&r? – 8.0/10

This is one of those burgers which sound amazing on recipe yet slightly under perform when served. Non the less I found the burger to be very juicy and delicious and recommend it.

Size: Large

The burger had:

  • Beef Patty
  • Pepper Jack Cheese
  • Jalapeno
  • Guacamole
  • Pico
  • Chipotle Ranch
  • Brioche Bread

The beef patty was nice juicy and well spiced. I can’t say it was the highest quality meat but the flavour was there. These were really juicy meaty bites that thankfully weren’t overwhelmed by the other flavours in the burger. In the context of the recipe the beef was great but it can be better especially if the rest of the ingredients had bigger punch

Pepper jack is popular in the US and I’m sad it isn’t used more in the EU. Because the rest of the ingredients didn’t have a strong flavour you can feel the cheese with the bites which as you know guys I love.

The guacamole and pico moved the burger from this classic feel to this southern/Mexican cuisine feel. I’ve tried this combination before and went really well with the beef and cheese. My problem was the intensity of those ingredients were not there a good guacamole and pico combination can go a long way in conjuring and explosion in your mouth but sadly it was slightly bland which on the other end really helped the overall balance of the burger.

The jalapenos felt in the same place as the guac. It was there but certainly didn’t add that pickled spicy feel that you expect.

The chipotle ranch really managed to compliment the guac and the beef and help greasy up and make the burger more juicy I should certainly give it a try in one of my own recipes.

Toasted brioche is certainly the right bread for it as it adds that sweetness that compliments the guac and pico.

All and all a pretty nice burger with a great recipe that could certainly be improved.

Burger joint venue and overall experience? – 6/10

I ordered this burger since I couldn’t evaluate thee venue itself. The fries though were really really good. This seems to be a theme in the US, you guys know and love your fries.

Quirkiness level of the experience? – 6//10

A very interesting recipe which I would like to give a try back in home.
