When going back to Scotland I’m always excited about Bread Meats Bread. It is simply the best place for burgers in the UK in my humble opinion. Was happy to find out that they have new addition

How tasty is the Motherf*#$&r? – 8.5/10

As usual the award-winning burger joint didn’t disappoint. This time I went for a burger I’ve never had. Slightly later I realised that the salad base was very similar to the Lamborghini one that I had hence I prepared myself for some taste explosion.

Size: Large

The burger had:

  • Beef Patty#
  • Salami
  • Grilled Halloumi
  • Spicy Nduja
  • Crushed chillies
  • Cucumber and Feta Salad
  • Tomatoes
  • Harrisa Mayo
  • Brioche Bun

In a Scottish burger the first thing you talk about is the Scottish beef. It is simply f-ing good. The quality is great it is spiced and even though by law and recipe in this case it is cooked until well done they still managed to make it juicy. This is among the best beef I’ve had in a burger. Then comes the salami which kind of weights in on that meaty flavour and certainly is one of the flavours that makes the burger feel heavy. I’m not sure on my opinion for it though. I had a nostalgia hit by the salami taste and yet it felt
kind of cheap and most probably you could of gotten a better cured style meat for the overall recipe.

Talking about a Spartan theme, nothing screams Greek like halloumi cheese. This grilled chewy goodness went really well with the already heavy feel of the burger. It certainly added to the theme of the burger and let’s face it, grilled halloumi always tastes good.

Now, lets talk about the second cheese and the salad which continued the Balkan spirit of the burger. Tomatoes, cucumber and feta cheese, these three make a typical Balkan salad which you can find anywhere in the region, they go really well together, and they go well with meat. Sadly, I can’t say I was impressed with the quality of the vegetables. Tomato and cucumber were kind of bland and the cheeses flavor was overwhelming them.

We need to finish with the spicy and sauces. The chillies and the harrisa mayo added that right level of spicy to the mix without being overwhelming similar to the Lamborghini .

Burger joint venue and overall experience? – 9/10

Bread Meats Bread is a burger joint that doesn’t offer only burgers. If you have a large stomach like myself I would always recommend grabbing a small poutine with the burger. You simply can’t go wrong and it is a unique side that you don’t see elsewhere.
Regarding the beer lovers I fell in love with Cesar Augustus which is a Lagger/IPA and it really manages to combine best of both worlds and refresh your pallet. I strongly recommend it.

Beer of choice: Caesar Augustus

Quirkiness level of the experience? – 7//10

I can’t say this is the weirdest burger I’ve eaten especially in BMB but the place is different from your everyday burger joints.
