The first 10/10 !!!

Bread Meats Bread is the first really good gourmet burger place that I visited that kind of inspired my passion for burgers. I’ve visited it multiple times and I’ve tried most of the menu but not recently enough to review it. Last month I had the chance of going to Glasgow and eating at their burger joint in the centre and it didn’t disappoint

How tasty is the Motherf*#$&r? – 10/10

These are top notch local and fresh ingredients which really helps for the great taste.

The burger had:

  • Smashed Beef Patty
  • Slow Roasted Pulled BBQ Lamb
  • Pomegranate Molasses
  • Tangy Peppadews
  • Cucumber and Feta Salad
  • Harissa Mayo

I don’t even know where to start. As a beginning this is one of the most interesting burgers I’ve tried in terms of taste and ingredients and somehow they’ve managed to balance the taste of the burger perfectly.

Let’s start with the meat. This is one of the few times where you can intensely taste the different meats in a burger. Normally one of the taste overwhelms the other but in this case you can really feel the great beef patty (Go Scottish beef) and the melting pulled lamb. They are both strong taste but they manage to compliment each other so great.

This is a very saucy burger, just how I like them (I know this boat is not for everyone ). As a first impression it is the cucumber feta salad which compliments the lamb taste so well (I do believe there is a bit of yogurt as well but I’m not sure). These two tastes are both strong and fresh and you can find this combination in Middle Eastern/Mediterranean cuisine.

Talking about middles eastern the pomegranate sauce is great and you get that sweet tangy feel from it which is complimented by the peppadews. And to finish that slight spiciness there is the harissa mayo.

Hands down this is the best burger I’ve tried exactly because of that taste explosion, balance and every bite counts

Now the only nit picking is the fact that the brioche gets too soggy from all the sauces, maybe it should be toasted a bit. And the burger is difficult to eat even for me. and I’m a pretty large lad.

Non the less I do believe the Lamborghini deserves a top spot as a burger.

Burger joint venue and overall experience? – 7/10

Bread Meats Bread looks and feel like a very regular gourmet burger joint. However it isn’t only the burgers that are delicious but also the fries and the amazing variance of Canadian style poutines. I believe BMB is one of the best places to get stuffed.

They also have a decent selection of beers and ales with rotating ones.

Beer of choice: Caesar Augustus

The beer is really nice it is a lager/IPA mix. It has that bitterness but it is very light which goes well with this heavy burger.

All and all a great selection of sides, beers, milkshakes and burgers. What more can you want?

Quirkiness level of the experience? – 6//10

I would certainly say that Bread Meats Bread have among the quirkiest burger recipes  that actually taste amazing. There wasn’t anything too crazy going on but trust me, it can get quirkier, check my Doughnut burger review.
