Baba G’s is located in a great area in London City close to Broadgate Circle. It is a burger joint I highly recommend especially considering this is The Best Lamb Burger in London in my opinion.

How tasty is the Motherf*#$&r? – 9/10

The burger had:

  • 2x Spiced Lamb Patties
  • Crispy Onion Bhaji
  • Baba’s Spicy Naga Chilli
  • Burger Sauce
  • Black Onion Seed Brioche

Hands down The Best Lamb Burger in London that I’ve tried. The Indian twist is executed perfectly and it is mouth watering. I didn’t think I would enjoy it as much but the explosion of tastes from all the spices is amazing. It is very well balanced and a must try for any burger fan.

Let’s start with the patties. That lamb is amazing but honestly, I don’t think it is the meat, it is all the spices and ingredients like peppers and onions mixed and grilled with it that give it that spectacular flavour that make them the centrepiece of the burger. My only comment is that similar to other Indian cuisines, the taste of the meat is hidden behind all the spices and a part of me wonders if the taste won’t be better with a meatier patty and higher quality lamb.

I don’t know what it is but the burger sauce is striking a perfect balance with the meat and all the flavours. It still amazes me how can you put so many spices and manage to balance them so well.

The Bhaji onions are well hidden behind their Indian preparation. They help finish that typical burger taste yet all the herbs and spices they are prepared to mask the strong onion flavour. The texture is also great it reminds of potatoes so does the taste at times and it really plays tricks on your pallet.

The Naga sauce is spicy but very tasty it is in no way masking flavours or numbing tastes which I love. None the less it may be still spicy for some people so keep in mind.

Last but not least the bun… One of the best buns I’ve had that compliments the burger so well. It is not only a placeholder but part of the burger. The seeds can be tasted through the bite and they compliment the entire burger.

Amazing burger that has the only downside of not feeling as a burger just because the taste experience is so atypical. Non the less I believe it is a must try!

Burger joint venue and overall experience? – 5/10

The burger joint is at a great location. It is a small shack serving great burgers and the fries are pretty good. Although to be honest it is the sauces that come with them that make them great. Fries are definitely something that can be improved.

Beverage: Beaver Town’s Gamma Ray

For this burger, I would recommend the “Gamma Ray” pale ale. It is clearing the pallet perfectly for the next bite although I think a hoppier ale would go even better.

Quirkiness level of the experience? – 9/10

In terms of quirkiness it is as good as it gets. All the burgers have an Asian twist and the experience is a must try.
I’m pretty amazed how they managed to put typical spices and favours from the eastern part of the world into a food that is so western in its origin. I would only say that because it is so strange your pallet may forget you are eating a burger and is one of the reasons it is not going for a 10/10.
