How tasty is the Motherf*#$&r? – 7/10

Last time I went to Honest Burgers I had the Deli burger which was a special then. I really really liked so decided to come back and give this one a try.

The burger had

  • cajun style beef patty
  • brioche
  • American cheese
  • smoked bacon (UK style)
  • fried onions
  • pickles
  • smoky ketchup

It was good. As some of you may know I like saucy/soggy burgers and this one was missing on that. I would have preferred more ketchup or even a bit of mustard on that one.
The meat was very well seasoned, very well made and the cajun spice fitted perfectly. I’m a fan of bacon but not the crispy American style one, so I was quite happy with this one, it really added a good balance to the beef taste.
You could definitely feel the pickles and the ketchup (kind of reminded of McDonald’s) . The other problem for me was the cheese, you couldn’t feel it. It was there so you can say that there was cheese but all the other tastes were much stronger than it and completely overwhelmed it. I really like to have a punchy well-balanced cheese on my burger or not have any at all… don’t tease me.

Burger joint venue and overall experience? – 7/10

So Honest Burgers is a pretty regular looking burger joint. There aren’t many drinks choices but service is great and quick. One thing that kicks ass are the rosemary fries, you get them for free with your burger and they are a very good pallet refresher.

Quirkiness level of the experience? – 3/10

A standard burger joint. There are rotating specials but this time it was nothing fancy or interesting.
